Next we traveled just about every road in Vermont to discover the many rivers and covered bridges that span the state. In one photo you can actually see 2 covered bridges on the same road, the only spot in the state that occurs. |

| BELOW: The Fisher Bridge in Wolcott spans the Lamoille River. One of two remaining covered railroad bridges in Vermont, both are retired. Built in 1908, it is the only one with a full length cupola, which allowed the smoke to escape. |

Deer Hollow Brook cascades 80 feet to create picturesque Moss Glen Falls, Warren, Vermont. |

Next we were off to New Hampshire. A trip around Lake Winnipesaukee rewards the traveler with many scenic coves and small villages. One of which is Squam, where part of "On Golden Pond" was filmed. |

Other roads in New Hampshire pass through more covered bridges and past many tranquil lakes. |

| The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge is one of the longest
covered bridges in the United States. Built in 1866 and 450 feet long, the bridge spans the Connecticut River and links Cornish, New Hampshire to Windsor, Vermont. |
