OUR TRAVELS

In the spring of 2007 we spent a couple of days in Virginia City Nevada - a real "living Ghost Town".   Virginia City offers a lot of the old and some of the new.     Mines, mansions, museums, railroad and tours will take you back to the founding days of the Comstock Lode.

The summer of 2007 we spent 5 weeks touring New England and a bit of Canada.

Our first stop was Massachusetts. 

We enjoyed the big 4th of July celebration East Long Meadow offered.

Then it was off to see the sights of Cape Cod.

Most of our Connecticut visit was spent in the north and northwestern portion.

Congamond Lake, West Suffield. 

The family had a cottage on this lake in the 1950's.

Riverton sits on the banks of the Farmington River.  Lambert Hitchcock, one of America's greatest chair makers built his mill in 1826.

Kent State Park / Kent Falls

West Cornwall Bridge, built in 1864, spans the Housatonic River.  

This bridge is one of two such bridges in the state open to automobile traffic.
